There’s a connection between my own memories of being read to as a child and looking at the pictures in the book - Arabian Nights - thinking about Aladdin’s magic carpet - a carpet that defies gravity - an object that becomes alive - has potential movement - transporting to different spaces - childhood stories are able to defy the laws of gravity - evoking a sense of wonder and freedom.".
